The Minister Osmani and the Euro Ambassador Fuere discussed about the food safety in Macedonia and the EU countries

The Minister of health, MD Bujar Osmani had a working meeting with the Euro Ambassador Ervan Fuere about the food safety and it was given a presentation on the European practice concerning this question.

During the meeting it was stated that the Ministry of health is performing it’s activities in relation to unify the legislation about food with the countries from the EU and entirely respects the European recommendations for functioning the public health and at the same time not allowing the circle of control over the production and distribution of food to be disrupted. The main purpose is to enable the safest but also the best product for the consumers.

Ervan Fuere also cleared that this field is differently regulated in the European countries, so it is demanded for assistance from the European Union to clear define HASSAP system that will enable training of the inspectors from the Directorate for food through different programs.

Fuere expressed great satisfaction from the accomplished results of the Sector for Euro integration within the Ministry of health and pointed out that this Sector has proved obvious results in the field of blood safety as well as accomplished cooperation with the European Center for control of diseases.

At the end of the meeting it was emphasized that the health care sector is moving with strong steps forward but always leaves place for an improvement that is especially important for the doctors and the medical personnel to enable performing activities outside of Macedonia, to exchange experiences and meet highest accomplishments in medicine, applicable in the countries of the European Union.
