The Minister of health Osmani promoted the system for video surveillance in the public health care institutions

The system for video surveillance consists of 71 local stations, central monitoring center, and links for transferring the video signals

The Minister of health MD. Bujar Osmani today visited the Center for monitoring in the name of starting the system for video surveillance in the public health care institutions.

- The purpose of the video surveillance in the public health care institutions is to make an integrated video surveillance in order to detect the problems that appear in the health care institutions during delivering the services and in order to improve the efficiency of this institutions, the employees, how to protect the lives of the patients but also the objects we have in the health care sector, stated Osmani.

The system for video surveillance consists of 71 local stations, central monitoring center and links for transferring the video signals.

- I did not allow the start of the system until a Regulation procedure was prepared where was exactly determined the way and the procedure for applying the recordings from this video surveillance. The Regulation was prepared together with the Directorate for protection of personal data that already approved this Regulation and we as a Ministry of health undersigned the Regulation. In the Regulation it is exactly determined who are the people that will be able to look up those recordings. In the 71 local stations the authorized personnel appointed by the Director of the hospital will be able to look at the recordings only on daily basis that means can look at the things that are happening at the moment. Those neither can re record nor after the recorded day watch those recordings, stated Osmani.

This is about the local stations with around 950 internal and 150 external cameras that cover up all public health institutions in the country.

- Only in the central station where is the archive of the system durig the period of 30 days some data will be able to be found but only on written demand of the Minister where specifically will be explained the reason why those materials are needed. If the materials are not asked within the period of 30 days, the next day 31 all the data for the previous 30 days will be automatically destroyed. For the need of the Ministry of internal affairs, the legal organs and the Minister of health the data could be taken only by authorized persons appointed by the Minister of health, stated Osmani.

One of the options stated Osmani, is the Minister of health to make surveillance about what is happening in the public health institutions because he appoints the directors of the public health care institutions and he is responsible for the functioning of the health care system.

- In the zone that is covered with video camera will be appointed that is under video surveillance as it is everywhere in the world. Every person that will enter that zone will know that is under video surveillance. All entrances of the hospitals, around the register accounts where the evidence and registration is being performed, in the hallways and in the central pharmacies where the medicines are kept, especially the methadone in the Center for addiction, will be taped, added the Minister of health Bujar Osmani.
